random teaser photo & business idea: Potala Palace

Potala Palace Reflection

aside from Angkor Temple in Cambodia, this is truly the single most magnificent religious structure i've ever drooled at. photos i'd seen do no justice to this place. and the insides?... well, i didn't go in. too 'spensive. actually i have a strict policy on no-photo policies, so i decided it wasn't worth the ordeal to buy tickets for the palace innards.

i walked around the square in front of Potala searching in vain for a business idea i've mulled previous to coming here. 2 words: Potala Chips

someone's gonna get rich from this idea. you can send me a check to:

Miao Minority Gal

i refrain from calling these peoples Chinese although they live within the borders of China.

"Miao" Minority

i also refrain from saying i'm the greatest sandwich artist in the world because i'm modest and i'd rather not show off my cold-cut stacking abilities. it's a gift from god, really. you couldn't teach these skills if you tried.

(September was a terrible month for thejerk.org posts... i'm trying to make it up now by publishing any verbal diarrhea that comes to mind.)

#1 laziest post ever

as you read this, i'll be shivering atop Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) with my tattered underwear lining my flimsy inadequate summer jacket. i've scheduled this post's release for precisely the time i'll wish to be dead from hiking exhaustion, mercury freezing temperatures and the anthrax i picked up in central China (11:15pm Thursday night). anywho...

like a good boy, i should've posted these photos immediately upon leaving Mongolia but i was sidetracked by my PSP purchasing obsession. well, here they are, possibly 2 of my prouder photos from the Mongolia herd:

second laziest post... EVER!

listen up you fat bitches:

coming atchu straight from Beijing, here's a photographic experience of epic proportions of a non-touristy, non-over-renovated (read: rebuilt), non-easily-navigable, non-full-o'-touts-and-overpriced-drink-vendors, no-fee section of the Great Wall of China. one of the 'wild wall' sections as it's known in Chinese circles, Jiankou is officially off-limits to tourists but the combination of incompetent chinese limited policing and my extremely large testicles allowed me one illegal overnight stay atop the wall that is indeed quite great.

Great Wall o' China @ Jiankou

if you want instructions on how to get there, i have a photographic memory as well as washboard abs able to open stubborn beer bottle tops (but that's neither here nor there) so give me a shout and i'll send over my schematics, blueprints and weightlifting statistics (no, 400 lbs bench wasn't just a rumor).

Montage of MGL young LADIES!

Montage of MGL young LADIES!

hang out at the only local cinema in Ulan Bataar (capitol of Mongolia - UB for those in the know) and you're likely to get a parade of uber-trendy Ulan Bataarians accompanied by a mini-parade in your ever-tightening short pants.

as usual, "HELLO, Yacht LADY!" applies here.

dirty and quick post (from Mongolia)

5 consecutive overnight trains to reach Mongolia for this damn festival. was it worth it? my pictures say yes, my sensitive buttcheeks say no. only history will tell.

the Nadaam Festival is Mongolia's premiere national event complete with all sports related to their heritage and nomadic lifestyle: archery, wrestling, horse racing and an obscure event called anklebone shooting. in the world's least populated country (4.3 people per square mile) where many people still practice a nomadic lifestyle, these sports take on a greater meaning due to the simple fact that they're not intended solely for the delight of overweight package tourists. the festival is kicked off by Olympics-esque opening ceremonies and doesn't finish until 3 days later when a ceremonial sheep is gently escorted out of Ulan Bataar's central stadium. honestly, i couldn't make up the bit about the well dressed ceremonial sheep if i wanted to.

and here, some teaser photos (more to come eventually):
